About Me

My photo
Ventura, California, United States
Hello and Welcome to my Site. My name is Johni Heloha'Homa(Red Thunder).I am from the Chahta and Siksika Tribes of Turtle Island(North America) respectively. I live at the Western Gate of Turtle Island, Ventura, California it is the southernmost part of the Central or "Gold" Coast as it is reffered to locally. My studio/loft is in one of the greenest buildings in the world, it is the WAV(Working Artists Ventura) project. My Visual, Auditory, and Alter-Sensory Arts Concepts and Expressions are of many different influences mainly revolving around my "Original Turtle Islander" heritage. The Zaca fire images are a few years old. Oka'Tali #1 is part of my new work. The camera I used is a Nikon FM10 and is not digital. The current images with the exception of Tanchi Harvest Bag and Oka'Tali #1 were taken with a camera phone. I don't consider myself a photographer I took these images as basics to paint from, however serendipity stepped in and took me on this path, so be it. My new photo works are "Anastomystic". They are not about looking as much as "Seeing". I call them "Icons of Oka'Tali". Yokoke(Thank You)
